Gavin Taylor, 28, was recently stabbed through the eye with a stiletto by his 33-year-old girlfriend. The shoe is believed to have pierced his eye and made contact with his brain. While the girlfriend has been criminally charged, it has left the men confessing to be similar victims of their partner’s wrath. Caution - further reading not recommended for the faint hearted or those in love.
Ashish, 26, made the mistake of sharing his email’s password with his girlfriend. “We had a fight one evening, which I casually mentioned about to one of my female colleagues, through chat, the next day,” he says. And what followed was a trail of vulgar and abusive mails from his email id to her inbox. “I noticed a change in my colleague’s behaviour, and later learnt about what was going on.” Sonal, a collegiate, enlightens, “The idea is to hurt a man’s ego.” Sonal uploaded a nude pic of her boyfriend on a social networking site. “He was two-timing, so I had to give it back to him. I created a poster out of the pic and broke up with him online,” she says.
Sameer, a 19-year-old college student, walked into a coffee shop to find his friends watching a video uploaded by his girlfriend. ‘It was abusive and lengthy’ is all how he’s willing to describe it, not going into details. Says Chetan, a call centre employee, “My girlfriend has this habit of shouting in public places after a fight. Once, a passerby approached her to ask if she needed help, thinking I was molesting her.”
Revenge perhaps isn’t just best served cold, but also if it’s intimate. Says Akshay, 25, advertising executive, “Angry women blurt the most intimate details about a relationship to their girlfriends, but I was shocked out of my wits when my girl picked up a fight with me and went and told my guy friends about how I didn’t satisfy her in bed.” Guys, maybe it’s best to kiss and make up!
